Zoom classes are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, for 3 weeks of each month. Register for classes at the bottom of this page. The first class is free, then pay what you can. The Zoom link will be emailed to you after you register. That one link is good for all of the Zoom classes I teach.
Research has shown that Tai Chi and Yoga can both be effective at relieving pain, improving mental and physical health, and enhancing balance/fall prevention when practiced consistently over time. I encourage you to practice both forms or choose the one you prefer. The most important thing is to move in a variety of enjoyable ways every day.
October 14-30
November 4-20
December 2-18
Tuesdays - Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention
Thursdays - Tai Chi for Osteoporosis
These "Short & Sweet" classes consist of 40 minutes total per week, if you do both classes, which is a "do-able" amount of time for many people. Benefits may be felt after each class and can be expected to grow over time with consistent practice. I encourage you to practice between class meetings and to develop your own ongoing practice.
We will practice standing movement, with seated variations as desired. If you plan to practice while seated, please contact me to schedule a complimentary Zoom orientation on practicing the movement in a chair.
Please scroll down to read: Preparation for Class, Welcome, Health & Safety, and to register.
The Zoom link will be emailed to you once you register. Register once and take as many different classes as you like, as the link you receive is valid for all the Zoom classes I offer.
These classes focus on two programs developed by Dr. Paul Lam of the Tai Chi for Health Institute: 1)Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention, and, 2) Tai Chi for Osteoporosis.
Clear a safe space for your movement practice. Consider rugs, bags, cords, pets, furniture placement, and so forth. This is important when doing a class in-person and when participating via Zoom.
Use a sturdy chair, preferably wooden with no arms.

These gentle "Short & Sweet" classes consist of 40 minutes total per week, if you do both classes, which is a "do-able" amount of time for many people. All students need to use the "Pay What You Can" button to register for class, even if not submitting payment when registering. (Unless I emailed a link directly to you.)
After registering, you will receive an email confirmation with a Zoom link for the class. If you don't see the confirmation in your normal email, check your junk mail. Or email me.
For your convenience, the same link is used for all of the Zoom classes that I teach.
My intention is to continue offering these classes without requiring payment in hopes of including all who want to participate. Please be generous when you can pay, and know that you are supporting me and others in the class. Thank-you.
Can't pay right now? No problem, but it is good that we have some sort of exchange to honor the value of my work and the community created by our classes. Here are two non-monetary options to contribute:
Please make a special effort to invite others to my classes. These classes are designed to help keep us all moving, promote overall wellness, and foster community.
Do good deeds in exchange for classes you take. Spread the spirit of kindness and generosity in ways that you can. Actively be kind to others. No gesture of kindness is too small...holding a door open or smiling works wonders. Create positive ways to connect with others - take a walk, play music, sing, tell stories and jokes, dance, garden, make something for someone, teach someone to read or write, call a friend or family member, be politically active, and advocate for the environment, for individuals, for societal issues you care about.
Sliding scale of $0 - $30. per class.
